RIGHT OFF THE RUNWAY
As you’re choosing the latest fashions for your wardrobe this fall, why not explore a new look for your home as well? Wear-Dated’s new website features five luscious carpet styles - made with Wear-Dated carpet fiber - that cater to your inner fashionista. We introduce you to two of them below, but to see more, visit the Home Page of www.weardated.com.
Highrise Retreat – A bold, geometric pattern makes this Cut & Loop style carpet an easy choice for a modern home. Made by WundaWeve, it’s durable and stylish – suitable for both the runway and your living room. We particularly love the 18 chic colors in which it’s available. Hello, Cashmere.
Currydale – If you’re planning to make a statement, your job just got easier. As cozy as it is striking, this Frieze carpet from Gulistan appeases your palate with colors like Honey, Butternut and Keylime. And Friezes are known for their willingness to play well with children, pets and plenty of company.
With August underway, the final barbeques and picnics of the season are taking place. But flavor isn’t the only thing hamburgers and hotdogs add to the dog days of summer. As the kids sail through the house and friends pass through your doors, catsup and mustard often get left behind in their wake. So how do you rid your carpet of the stains without removing the memories? Here are a few helpful hints:
Catsup – Blot as much of the stain up as possible with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Saturate the spot with a water/ammonia solution (you can find the ratio here on http://www.weardated.com/) to neutralize it; then blot up all moisture. Be sure not to wet the backing! Apply a water/detergent solution (ratio here) to the spot and continue blotting until the spot is removed. Finally, spray lightly with water, cover with a pad of paper towels, and weigh them down with a heavy object. Allow the carpet to dry, then remove the weight and brush the carpet up.
WEAR-DATED CARPET BUYING TIP
Before you shop for carpet at one of many Wear-Dated retailers in the U.S. and Canada, fill out a Wear-Dated Show Me Sheet [we also describe it in detail in The Carpetology Blog]. You’ll feel more organized, and the salesperson will have a better grasp of what you want and need.
WEAR-DATED ON THE WEB
Sure, you can get your carpet fix at the new Wear-Dated.com. But for some extra fun, visit The Carpetology Blog, a blog by the Women of Wear-Dated that covers everything from red carpet events in Hollywood to carpet care in your home... And at Carpetology, you can check out Wear-Dated’s video series, “A Foot’s Perspective,” a view of the world from the floor up. If it’s community you’re seeking, check out Wear-Dated’s Facebook company profile or the Friends of Wear-Dated Facebook group, both interactive ways to keep up with Wear-Dated.
