Wear-Dated® Representative Serves on SURFACES 2009 Education Advisory Council
Christine Whittemore contributes perspective on integrated retail experience

 

KENNESAW, Ga.— Wear-Dated® is proud to announce that Christine Whittemore, Wear-Dated director of in-store innovation, has been invited to join the SURFACES 2009 Education Advisory Council. Established by Hanley Wood Exhibitions, the SURFACES Education Advisory Council has been an integral part of the SURFACES Education Program planning process since Hanley Wood began managing the show in 1999. The Council consists of professionals who represent the core demographics of the floor covering industry and offer feedback and perspective relevant to day-to-day operations.

“Overall, our goal is to address the applicable educational needs facing all of our attendees: ongoing training, certification testing and a focus on current issues affecting the floor covering industry in a thought-provoking manner,” said Carol Wilkins, Conference Manager, SURFACES.

In addition to Whittemore, members of the SURFACES 2009 Education Advisory Council include: Paul Friederichsen, owner, BrandBiz, Inc.; Bruce Goff, ASID, IIDA, founder, Domus Design Group; Karen Mason, owner, Mason Carpet; Jon Namba, executive director, Certified Floorcovering Installers; Scott Perron, president, Big Bob’s of America; and John Wabeke, owner, Arizona Flooring Forensics, LLC.

Each member is invited to participate based on his/her direct or indirect influence on the industry through contributions to trade publications, research and business. Originally consisting only of retailers, the Council has gradually evolved to better represent the core demographics of the floor covering industry: retailers, installers, designers, distributors, inspectors, manufacturers, industry columnists and industry marketing representatives. ”Each member brings unique perspective from his or her field, making for well-balanced, well-informed and well-structured educational ideas,” added Wilkins.

Whittemore noted, “I am honored to be a part of this group of prominent industry leaders. Their passion to elevate the industry and improve our end consumer’s overall experience through education and training is contagious!”
