Wear-Dated® Introduces Newsroom Subscription Options
RSS and email offer convenience for staying current on Wear-Dated
KENNESAW, Ga. — With the launch of its redesigned website, Wear-Dated® introduces two subscription options - RSS and email - for those who want to stay current on the Wear-Dated brand and its activities in the marketplace. Geared toward the media, carpet mill, and carpet retail and retail salesperson audiences, these options may also appeal to those passionate about carpet and the Wear-Dated brand.
"Anyone wanting to keep track of Wear-Dated's activities in the marketplace can easily do so through our newly introduced newsroom subscription options," says Christine B. Whittemore, Wear-Dated director of in-store innovation. "We offer weekly updates summarizing new promotions, programs, website updates and posts to The Carpetology Blog, in addition to our press releases."
The two subscription options consist of RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, and email. Email updates deliver automatically to one's email inbox. For RSS, updates appear in a 'feedreader' that aggregates news feeds. These feeds can be easily accessed and organized according to one's preferences.
To subscribe to email updates, a visitor clicks on the Feedburner flame icon or . This brings up a separate window for entering an email address and spam-prevention letters. That then triggers a verification message to one's email inbox that must be opened and the link within clicked on. Once verified, Feedburner activates the email subscription to “News & Events.”
To get started subscribing to an RSS feed, one first needs to enable a feedreader like Google Reader, Newsgator, Bloglines and Netvibes by setting up an account. Once the account is established, it's a matter of enabling the subscription - as one would for email subscription. On the Wear-Dated website, look for the bright orange RSS icon and click on that. It takes the visitor to a page where one can select a preferred feedreader and enable the subscription.
Both subscription options are similar to those available on The Carpetology Blog site and Flooring The Consumer. "Anyone subscribing to those two resources will find the process similarly easy," says Whittemore.
