Wear-Dated®’s New Blog Connects Consumers with Carpet
The Carpetology Blog makes carpet both enjoyable and accessible

KENNESAW, Ga.--Jan. 23, 2008--Wear-Dated® proudly introduces a new Web log titled The Carpetology Blog, complementing the brand’s award-winning By the Foot marketing campaign. The blog discusses carpet and flooring from a consumer’s perspective, including information on buying carpet, cleaning carpet, interior design, and generally how carpet enhances the home. Other fun stories capture mentions of carpet in the news.

The Wear-Dated Carpetology™ Blog takes a light-hearted approach to carpet, very similar to By the Foot. Its goal is to make carpet more accessible to consumers, offering them a place to listen to and participate in conversations relating to carpet. “Beautiful carpet adds luxury, character and a personal element of design to a consumer’s home,” says Marianne Cone, director of marketing. “It’s time to celebrate all that carpet adds to a consumer’s life – from a soft caress, to seductive color, and protective strength.”

The blog is written by the Women of Wear-Dated®, five women involved with Wear-Dated® carpet fiber: Christine Whittemore, director of in-store innovation and author of Flooring the Consumer, a marketing blog; Marianne Cone; Ramona Swain, marketing manager; Ann Hurley, manager, contract development, and Elizabeth Hise, PR manager at Hughes, Wear-Dated’s public relations agency. Others involved in the world of carpet, and Wear-Dated, will participate as guest contributors. Each contributor offers the blog a different perspective, providing personal or professional anecdotes, and experience working in or with the flooring industry.

“Carpetology is about all things carpet,” said Christine Whittemore. “At Wear-Dated, we love carpet and believe in our carpet fiber. We want consumers to appreciate how carpet can be an integral and even critical part of home design, and hope that our enthusiasm for this exciting product category comes through loud and clear!”

The Carpetology Blog publishes two or three new posts each week and can be found on the Web at www.carpetology.blogspot.com. Visitors can subscribe for email updates or RSS feed updates by visiting The Carpetology Blog.
