Wear-Dated® Seminar Focuses on “What Your Register Tape Doesn’t Tell You”
Discover Clues on How to Improve the Retail Experience

KENNESAW, Ga.--Jan. 7, 2008--Wear-Dated® carpet’s director of In-Store Innovation, Christine Whittemore, will present “What Your Register Tape Doesn’t Tell You” at Surfaces 2008, the annual exposition for floor covering professionals. The workshop will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Wear-Dated – booth #4054 – recognizes the importance of creating an engaging and positive retail experience for the carpet consumer. When retailers pay attention to their store dynamics, they’re better able to meet the needs of their customers, generate repeat business, and increase profits. Focusing solely on finances and numbers doesn’t offer the comprehensive outreach needed to attract and retain loyal customers. “Consumers face innumerable choices for their disposable dollars and won’t tolerate suboptimal shopping experiences,” says Whittemore.

“Retailers who pay attention to how consumers interact with their stores – using the tools of a retail anthropologist - create memorable experiences that consumers – both men & women – gravitate toward.”

Wear-Dated has developed several presentations addressing women consumers and their shopping experience, including “Marketing to Women – It’s a Business Thing!”, and “Trading Up – Carpet, Truly a New Luxury Good!” which are CEU accredited. Retailers around the country have benefited from the information. The most recent presentation in this series is “What Your Tape Register Doesn’t Tell You,” which looks at what makes today’s consumer unique, discusses the tools of a retail anthropologist, and applies those tools to the flooring retail environment.

To participate in the “What Your Tape Register Doesn’t Tell You,” register with Surfaces 2008 at http://www.surfaces.com/Surfaces08/public/enter.aspx?left=0&Nav=0. Also, visit the Wear-Dated Booth at Surfaces 2008 to learn more about the presentations available from Wear-Dated.
