Wear-Dated® Unveils Brand-Focused Retail Programs at Surface 2006
KENNESAW, Ga.--Jan. 12, 2006--In addition to the new products, programs and marketing initiatives that Wear-Dated® will unveil at Surfaces 2006, the branded retail programs “Best of the Best” and “Demand the Brand” are expected to be among the most exciting and beneficial both to retailers and consumers.
Wear-Dated has created the “Best of the Best” program to combat what is known to retailers as the “paradox of choice.” “When consumers are faced with too many choices, they become overwhelmed and walk away, rather than making a purchase,” said Keith Barbaree, director, Wear-Dated carpet fiber. “The 'Best of the Best’ program will help retailers narrow their product assortment to truly bring the most saleable Wear-Dated products to the attention of consumers.”
Similarly, the “Demand the Brand” campaign will encourage retailers and consumers to demand the Wear-Dated brand, because of its reputation for durability, backed by an industry-leading warranty. The recently announced strategic branding initiative between Mohawk, Scotchgard and Wear-Dated demonstrates an industry shift toward elevating the flooring retail experience with more branded product offerings.
“Pre-introduction consumer testing showed that carpet combining the Wear-Dated, Scotchgard and Mohawk brands is preferred by consumers in every important brand and purchase consideration,” said Barbaree. “ Branding moves carpet retailers away from entry-level price points, toward a high-value, beautiful and durable fashion statement for their customers.”
In addition to the “Best of the Best” and “Demand the Brand” programs, Wear-Dated will also introduce many new product offerings, as well as the Wear-Dated “Road Show 2006” and the“Amazing Buying Experiences” workshop, to be held on Jan. 31 from 2-5 p.m.
